Nexus 2015: Google Nexus 5X vs Google Nexus 6P

One of the first Android smartphones to run the new Marshmallow version, the Nexus 5X was manufactured by LG. It sits on the far edge of mid-end smartphones and almost at the high-end range.

Google Nexus 5X Specs

5.2-inch IPS Display - The screen has a standard mid-range pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 that is enough for users to enjoy full high-definition quality video files. Pixel density is at 423 ppi.

Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 - The Nexus 5X is powered by a powerful Qualcomm SoC with processors on 1.8GHz clock frequency. There could be no problems performance-wise.

Adreno 418 and 2GB RAM - the 5X almost has the same specs as the LG G4. With the same GPU, the performance in graphics and rendering could be the same as well. 2GB RAM is also more than enough for a lag-less experience.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Since this is a Nexus phone, users can expect timely updates. The new version also makes way for more features such as Doze, which allows for a longer battery life by hibernating apps.

12.3 MP Rear Camera and 5MP Front, LTE Capability - The rear camera has a pretty standard 12.3 megapixel count. The front snapper also has 5MP like the other models too. Data connection download and upload speeds are also on the higher side with LTE support.

Google Nexus 6P

Google launched the Nexus 6P along with the Nexus 5X. The phone was manufactured with Huawei and is better than the latter in terms of specs.

Google Nexus 6P Specs

5.7-inch AMOLED Display - the 6P has an impressive display with a QHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels just like with the S6. It also has a decent pixel density of 518 ppi which usually translates to clearer and more defined images on the screen.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 / Cortex A53, Cortex A57 - Unlike the 5X, the 6P only has quad-core processors clocked at 1.55 GHz. Performance is still favourable compared to other mid-end models.

Adreno 430 and 3GB RAM - the GPU of the 6P is certainly better than the 5X. It also has a higher 3GB RAM for more apps loaded in the background with minimal or no lags at all.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Running the latest Android version is one of the 6P's highlights. Consistent updates and fixes are also expected from Google and Huawei.

12 MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front, LTE Capability - Expect fast data connection speeds with its LTE capability. The rear camera is not world-breaking but it performs well for a mid to high-end device. The front snapper has an above average 8 megapixel count.
