ASUS Zenfone 3 Specs
5.5-inches QHD Display - the Zenfone 2 series had several 5.5-inch models that featured 1080p screens. However, ASUS might finally launch QHD screens for some of the higher-end Zenfone 3 models in 2016. They could still use IPS panels for the display.
Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM - some models in the predecessor line already had 4GB of RAM, which means the Zenfone 3 could also hold the same or possibly more. ASUS could also use Snapdragon 820 chips from Qualcomm instead of the Intel chips as some users have already complained about its problems.
USB Type-C Connector - ASUS has also confirmed that the new phones could also feature USB-C ports, which could be used to charge faster and transfer data quicker than the current existing tech. It would also help push USB-C into the mainstream Android market.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow - most of the Zenfone 2 phones have already been confirmed to be recipients of an incoming Android 6.0 update in 2016. This means that the Zenfone 3 will run the new version when it launches.
Fingerprint Scanner - since the phones would run the new version, they could also be fitted with fingerprint scanners. There are security features added in Android 6.0 that will work in coordination with fingerprint technology.
Quick Charging 3.0 and Wireless Charging - if ASUS opts for the Qualcomm chip, it could also support the QC 3.0, which is faster than their current quick charging tech. There could be a feature for wireless charging that will help eliminate cable clutter.
