The South Korean tech giant's flagship phone for 2015 is the Galaxy S6. For those with deep pockets, the S6 may be one of the best Android smartphones in the market.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs
5.1-inches Super AMOLED Display - Samsung does not disappoint with its signature Super AMOLED screen for their flagship line. It boasts a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 which puts it right at the high-end range. Viewing photos, watching videos and playing graphic intensive games will be more of a pleasure with more vivid colours and better contrast compared to the traditional IPS LCD displays. It also boasts an impressive pixel density of 577 ppi
Exynos 7 Octa 7420 / ARM Cortex-A57 - the chip and processor of the S6 will depend on the region model. Still, all have octa-core processors for a more powerful and smoother over-all experience. All of the processes will have almost no hiccups with its 2.1 GHz clock speed.
Mali-T760 MP8 and 3GB RAM - For rendering high-def video files and graphically intensive 3D video games, the S6's GPU will have no problems. Coupled with 3GB RAM, there would be a seamless user interface experience even while switching between RAM-heavy apps.
Android 5.0 Lollipop - The S6 runs Android Lollipop out of the box, which is not really that outdated considering that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow was just released several months ago. There is also an upcoming major Marshmallow update for the S6, which makes it an ideal phone to upgrade to even in 2016.
16MP Rear Camera, 5MP Front Camera and LTE Capability - Photography lovers will find the S6 attractive with its high quality camera. The front camera is also decent for snapping selfies. Uploading photos is made faster and easier even on the go with its LTE capability for faster speeds.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Galaxy S7 Specs
5.2-inch Super AMOLED 4K screen - the new S7 is expected to sport a 4K resolution screen. Like with the other expected smartphones, the new flagship would undoubtedly be more powerful than their 2015 predecessors. There are also rumours that it could also feature a pressure-sensitive display similar to the 3D Tech found in the iPhone 6S.
Exynos 8 Octo 8890 Chip and 4GB RAM - just like the S6, the chips could vary depending on the regions. However, Samsung has already announced that they could be using more of their chips for their newer phones down the line and the S7 could be one of those phones. The high-end smartphone could also hold 4GB RAM to load more apps and high-res textures for 3D video games.
ARM Mali-T880 GPU - The S7 will undoubtedly outperform its predecessors in terms of gaming and processing high quality videos.
20MP Main Camera - the rear camera would also be a treat with its 20 megapixel count. It will most likely feature 4K video capture and hopefully at 60fps for slow motion footages.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow – with the new version released several months ago, the S7 could run the new version out of the box even with a Q1 2016 expected release date.
Retina Scanner - just like the G5, the S7 is also rumoured to feature an eye scanner. Maybe it has something to do with the Android 6.0 security features and such but it would make things faster in terms of unlocking the phone.
